Walking along Kings Park’s Honour Avenues, lined with living memorials to our fallen soldiers, you can’t help but wonder: What are these soldiers’ stories?

Kings Park Honours Avenue was a project developed by The University of Western Australia to document the personal stories of Australian service personnel commemorated by memorial plaques along Kings Park Honour Avenues.

Over 1600 memorial plaques line thoroughfares within Kings Park providing visitors the opportunity to contemplate and reflect on the past, and consider sacrifices made by the fallen.

The Kings Park Honour Avenues application will extend the visitor experience by delivering a unique interactive encounter. Visitors will point their smartphone or tablet at a memorial plaque, and through image recognition technology, access a database that allows them to learn more about individuals commemorated. Remote users also have full access to the information database.

This project has been suspended in the absence of funding.
